Terms
What you are buying, in plain words
Last updated: 3 November 2026
Nothing, apart from a line of attention. For your money you get a picture of a note made out to the name you give, shown on the page after the payment, and, if you want, your name and note on a public wall once a human has read them. That is the whole list. These terms say the same thing at greater length.
Who you are dealing with
The site onedollar.help is run by Skrutiny Sebastian Koczyk, a sole proprietorship (jednoosobowa działalność gospodarcza) registered in Poland. Questions, refunds and anything else: hello@onedollar.help.
What you get
When your payment goes through, the page you come back to shows the note from the home page made out to the name you typed, with the amount and a RECEIVED stamp; a receipt by email comes on request to hello@onedollar.help. If you typed a name other than "anonymous", it can appear on the wall on the home page, with your note, the amount and the date, after a human look. You get no goods, no access, no subscription, no newsletter and no service beyond that. The note is a picture. It is not money, not a voucher, not a security and not legal tender anywhere, and it has no value that anyone will redeem.
Not a charity
This is not a charity, not a public benefit organisation and not a fundraiser. What you pay is a payment to a business, not a donation, and it is not tax deductible anywhere. If you want to do good with the money, there are far better addresses.
The price
You choose the amount: any whole number of US dollars from 1 to 10,000. The amount you see on the button is the amount Stripe charges, in US dollars. Your bank or card issuer may convert it and may add its own fees; those are not mine and I cannot see them. Stripe's checkout page and your card statement carry the business name set in Stripe for the account behind this site, not the words onedollar.help; where the card network allows a suffix, the statement adds ONEDOLLAR.
Payment
Payments are taken by Stripe under Stripe's terms and privacy policy. Your card details go to Stripe, not to this site. By pressing the button you ask for the note to be made out at once, and you agree that the service is complete the moment the stamped note is shown to you. The refund policy below is more generous than that sentence and it applies anyway.
Refunds
A payment above one dollar is refunded in full, no questions asked, if you ask within 14 days of the payment: write to hello@onedollar.help from the email address you used at the checkout and say which payment you mean. The refund goes back the way it came, through Stripe, to the same card. Refunds are of the whole payment, never of a part. A refunded entry comes off the wall. A payment of one dollar is yours to give and is not refunded, because sending it back costs more than the dollar.
The wall, and what stays off it
The wall is public. Names and notes go up only after a person has read them, and they go up as typed. I may refuse, shorten or take down anything that is unkind, unlawful, discriminatory, or that is not yours to publish: someone else's name, a trademark, a web address, contact details, or anything that reads as advertising. I decide alone and I do not have to give a reason; refusing an entry does not entitle you to a refund beyond the policy above. You can ask for your own entry to come down at any time, and it comes down. By typing a name and a note you confirm they are yours to publish and you allow me to show them on the wall for as long as the wall exists.
What this site does not promise
The site is provided as it is. It may be down, slow, or changed, and the wall may be paused or ended; the experiment runs for as long as it is interesting. If your payment went through and the stamped note did not show, write and I will fix it or refund you, your choice. Beyond that, my liability towards you is limited to the amount you paid, as far as the law allows.
Law and your rights
These terms are governed by the law of Poland. Nothing in them limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in, and any dispute can be brought before the courts that the law gives you. I may change these terms; the date at the top says when they last changed, and the version in force is the one shown when you pay.
